Anaesthesia and Perioperative Care PSP

The National Institute of Academic Anaesthesia (NIAA) and the James Lind Alliance (JLA) are conducting a research priority setting exercise in Anaesthesia and Perioperative care.

Last year, you helped us publicise an initial survey to gather research suggestions from patients, carers, clinicians and all our partner organisations.  We had a fantastic response and received nearly 1500 suggestions.

These responses have now been distilled to 93 ‘summary’ research questions.  We are now performing a second survey asking respondents to choose their top 10 questions.  For the findings to be representative, we need a good number of responses from a wide range of respondents.  This survey is now live and can be accessed via our website at and will remain open until the end of March.  We will then tot up the scores, and the most popular 25-30 research questions will go through to our final prioritisation workshop.
