IV Therapy Summit 2020: Troubleshooting IV Therapy - Access, Complications & Uncompliant Patients 

Difficulties in IV access due to individual patient factors or patients with difficult venous access often lead to repeated failed attempts which can result in delayed diagnosis and treatment. This conference will update delegates on troubleshooting IV associated complications and practicalities of vascular access issues including effective PICC/Midline placement and maintenance. The conference will also look at setting up an effective IV Therapy rapid response service. Chaired by Jackie Nicholson, Global Committee Member, World Congress on Vascular Access & Nurse Consultant Vascular Access, St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and with an address by Andrew Barton, Chair, NIVAS, and Advanced Nurse Practitioner in Vascular Access and IV Therapy, Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust.

  • Learn from experienced practitioners in setting up and delivering an effective rapid response service 
  • Understand how you can improve vessel health and maintenance
  • Developing a practical and consistent approach to trouble shooting vascular access issues
  • Identify key strategies for improving success rates in vascular access
