UK-Med recruitment information session

Sat 11 February 2017 to Sat 11 February 2017, London

UK-Med is recruiting experienced OT practitioners with an interest in humanitarian work to join the UK Emergency Medical Team (UK EMT) - which deploys to sudden onset disasters, such as earthquake and tsunami, on behalf of the UK Government.

The UK EMT is an elite group of dedicated practitioners who, with the support of their employers, are fully trained and committed to being on-call for 2 month blocks throughout the year. The team comprises over 60 medical personnel supported by a full field hospital with a Surgical and In-patient capability able to perform up to 7 major, or 15 minor surgical operations per day.

In the event of a disaster, the on-call team will be deployed and operational within 72 hours, staying onsite for a maximum of 3 weeks at a time. Team members who deploy are financially compensated at their basic rate of pay as well as reimbursed for any travel costs.

UK-Med will be hosting a recruitment information session in February with the aim of fast tracking some eligible candidates onto our fully funded training programme to make them deployment ready for on-call teams in 2017 and 2018.
